Gian Galang
Physical paintings, event posters and murals offer an art-focused way into UFC’s visual culture.
Gian Galang’s own project records give unusually useful information about the physical works behind sporting images. The 2022 UFC/Crypto.com portraits began as acrylic paintings on paper. The 2024 UFC 300 record distinguishes a wide acrylic-and-spray-paint mural from a vertical acrylic painting on watercolour paper for the Artist Series poster. Our two features use those records to examine changes in medium, format and presentation. They include the artist’s own images of the actual artworks and link to the official process film. This profile is a route into those two projects, not a complete career chronology.
