A cream tracksuit, red Three Stripes and a football tongue on a lattice sneaker. Tyrrell Winston’s latest adidas collection finds its rhythm between the studio and the court.

The best detail in Tyrrell Winston’s adidas campaign might be the setting. A basketball rests against a bench. A tote sits beside it. Players carry on behind the fence. The clothes belong to someone who has a day to get through, with a game somewhere in the middle.

Announced on 8 September 2026, the FW26 collection is called The Athlete. It follows The Artist, continuing Winston’s interest in the time and repetition behind a finished work. Cream and red carry the campaign, with easy silhouettes that feel comfortable courtside and just as convincing on the walk home.

The CLIMACOOL gets a football tongue

The TW CLIMACOOL is the piece to zoom in on. Its open, 3D-printed lattice wraps around the foot, then meets a folded tongue that borrows from football boots. Red stripes cut through the cream structure. The mix is strange in a good way: futuristic construction with a detail that feels pulled from a kit bag.

The clothing takes a similar approach to familiar sportswear. TW Stadium pieces use reversed panels and raw hems, exposing the joins you would usually expect to disappear inside a garment. In the campaign’s trouser close-up, the seams become part of the look. The matching jacket, red tee and tote make the collection feel like a wardrobe, rather than a single shoe with supporting merch.

From recovered basketballs to a new uniform

Winston is represented by Volery Gallery. His practice gives this collaboration its context: recovered basketballs, worn nets and other traces of play become artworks that retain the marks of their previous lives.

That attention to use carries into The Athlete. A raw edge or exposed seam invites the same kind of close looking as a scuffed ball. There is a connection between the objects Winston collects and the clothing he designs, even when the materials are fresh out of the factory.

The campaign keeps that connection grounded. Nobody needs to stand on a plinth for the clothes to make sense. A bench, a ball and a pair of red-striped shoes are enough. It is a uniform for the hours that happen around the highlight reel.
